On July 24, construction was completed on the new Pingxiangdong Railway Station on the Chongzuo-Pingxiang section of the Nanning-Pingxiang High Speed Railway. The Chongping section is 81.52 km long, starting from Guangxi's Chongzuonan Railway Station and ending at Pingxiangdong Railway Station, with provisions for future extension to Vietnam. Upon completion and operation of the Chongping section, the railway will be fully connected and operational, reducing train travel time between Nanning and Pingxiang to just over one hour.
